Where to next?
An apartment in Paris can be a wonderful European base as Paris is never too far from any great European city. Take the Eurostar to London, stay a weekend and see a show. It's so easy. A comfortable overnight train journey to Berlin can find you cycling around that wonderful city and visiting the Pergamon museum by lunchtime. There is a lovely 7 hour train journey to Barcelona which takes in some beautiful scenery and then rewards you with a few days in wonderful Spain. A one hour flight and you are in Copenhagen, the list is endless and you could do all this with just an overnight bag!
There are also plenty of beautiful places to explore in the french countryside too. The french rail system is brilliant and connects Parisians to the countryside that keeps them all a little more 'real'.
The South of France is full of charm. The towns of Antibes, Biot, Saint-Paul de Vence, Villefranche and Nice are so beautiful and are a wonderful change of pace for the traveller. These towns can be easily reached by the french rail and bus networks, so no need to worry about driving on the 'wrong' side of the road!
Oh and then there's Italy
Rome, Venice, Florence and so much more. Fly or take the train. The Italian trains are not as luxurious as the French but it is all part of the wonderful, craziness that is Italy.
